**Can enemies be friends?**
That’s a tough one. If you’re asking _can enemies be lovers_, the answer is absolutely, no question about it. But you’re not asking that. You’re asking if enemies can actually be _friends_. I think enemies can reach a point of mutual respect. A shared understanding. They can stop hating each other, grow past the bitterness, maybe even nod to each other in the hallway like, “Yeah… we’ve been through some shit.” But friends? Like _actual_ friends? I doubt it. Age plays a role, sure. Growth too. But deep down, enemies are usually just people fighting the same battle just from different sides, different fonts, different reasons. That kind of history doesn’t disappear just because time passes. They might not hate each other anymore, but they’ll probably never _fully_ trust each other either. There’ll always be a sliver of tension a flicker of “remember when?” So maybe they can be mutuals. Cordial. Civil. Even kind. But _friends_? That’s stretching it. Now lovers? That’s where things get interesting. Because let’s be honest even in friends-to-lovers stories, there’s usually still a bit of "I can’t stand you but I’d die for you" energy. That edge. That lowkey rivalry. So what’s the difference between friends-to-lovers and enemies-to-lovers? Not much, honestly. Just more fire, more resistance. More chaos and tension before it all snaps(So major differences lmao). And me? I just like the banter. The sharp words, the close calls. The way they’re always one insult away from kissing, or one argument away from pulling each other in. I like the way enemies close the space between each other without realizing they’re doing it until it’s too late. So no, enemies probably won’t ever be real friends.
But lovers?
Oh, definitely!
